1/8 ‘Agnieszka’
Agnieszka is a tough, caring mother figure. A school teacher, provider. The oldest sister, committed parent, strict guardian. Willing to give everything she owns for her child.
Agnieszka is my mum. I studied theatre, arts, piano, poetry and garments thanks to her commitment. Agnieszka is the first silhouette out of eight, as she is a storyteller of the others.
2/8 ‘Petronela’
Dear Petronela, we’ve never met. However, I am constantly reminded of this strong charisma resemblance between us. I am sure that as my great grandmother, your genes passed within generations to be present now.
3/8 ‘Helena’
As the first and the oldest one of your eleven grandchildren, I will be forever grateful for growing up with you by my side. When I read you my school essay some years ago, you cried, as you’ve seen your passion within me - storytelling. You’ve never managed to continue this passion as a mother of five. But I did, as I’ve never knew what commitment is.
As my primary school Polish teacher, you understood my mind and never let me feel humiliated by other kids for my way of thinking. You talked with me about religion, atheism, feminism, homosexuality, art. I could always come to you during lunch breaks and cover topics that - in my environment - were widely considered as taboos. But as a kid, I was so curious. And you fed my curiosity, so from then on, I was never afraid to express my opinions loudly.
5/8 ‘Magdalena’
You named your sculptures after women names. I did the same with my clothing. Additionally, I sculptured one piece with the use of human hair and liquid latex. It reminds me of the sisal.
6/8 ‘Alina’
Since I firstly saw your handcrafts, I adored it deeply. I felt connected with your mind. After all, your objects weren’t that awkward.
7/8 ‘Barbara’
As a little girl starting primary school, you were the person I was never afraid to go to whenever I needed guidance. You never failed as an educator. Now, as you left when I was still in primary school, I cannot show you how my life went and what am I doing as an adult. I attended your funeral with my parents and other children that loved you as much as I did. I stopped poetry but I still remember you going with me to every competition that took place in our region. And I remember you hugging me when I cried as I’ve got to be on the second place instead of the first one. Now when I am 22, it is weird for me to address you by your full name as you’ve always been “pani Basia”.

Your writing found a special place in my head and remained there to be present even today, after a year. I found your essays, especially “The Double Standard of Aging” and “The Third World of Women”, as an equivalent of my mind - but described with better words. This is where my collection took its name from.
Ho trovato nei tuoi saggi, soprattutto “The Double Standard of Aging” e “The Third World of Women”, un equivalente della mia mente, ma descritto con parole migliori.
